M&S Food – Roasted Chilli Cheddar
Recently I have been on a mission to find the ultimate spicy cheese. Can this latest offering defeat Mexicana and take the crown?
In terms of spice, this cheese is decent, but nothing amazing. The peppers are more sweet and less spicy than I would like, although they still carry a satisfactory heat.
The cheddar itself seems high quality and relatively mature, which is unusual in a spicy cheese. I was initially put off by this combination, but subsequently grew to appreciate it and think that the cheddar suits the spice reasonably well.
Overall this is a decent cheese, but definitely not the best. I rate it a solid 6.3 out of ten, but as it is worse and more expensive than Mexicana, I would not recommend anyone buy it.
